WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE TOGETHER

The Regional Gift Strategist is responsible for developing and managing effective gift planning donor strategies through phone, written, and face-to-face meetings that result in raising funds through outright, blended, and planned gifts in their Region, currently comprised of seven states (Oregon, Washington, Montana, Utah, Nevada, Idaho and Alaska). They serve as a technical and strategic gift planning advisor and partner to state leadership and fundraising staff in assigned business units to determine effective strategies for identified donors. They understand and apply complex principles influencing philanthropic giving, develop donor strategies, and build strong relationships with a portfolio of approximately 50 new and current donors and prospects. They negotiate and close a wide range of outright and complex gifts, including bequests and life income gifts, gifts of noncash assets such as stock and real estate, and Donor Advised Funds. They incorporate blended gifts and gifts of assets in proposals to donors. They are capable of articulating TNC's global priorities and working within a campaign at an advanced level. They discuss assets proficiently and listen for opportunities for gifts of assets. They involve, engage, and coach appropriate partners in the field and staff within Global Development; they recommend prospects and donors for further cultivation and stewardship with other fundraisers as necessary. They manage donor and program outreach to the business unit in partnership with Gift Planning Officers and Loyal Donor Officers in their regional team and work with the Philanthropic Planning Advisor team as needed. They lead regular meetings with the regional team of Gift Planning Officers and Loyal Donor Officers and are available to cover team absences in their Region. They will be required to use TNC's donor database for tracking donor conversations and metrics.
