




Job Description:
Berklee is seeking a detail-oriented, collaborative, and service-minded Senior Accountant to join our Accounting team. This role is an opportunity to apply deep technical accounting expertise in a mission-driven, creative environment that supports the next generation of artists, musicians, and innovators.
Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining the integrity of Berklee’s financial systems and general ledger, including all accounting and reconciliation related to Berklee NYC and the Boston Conservatory at Berklee. This position plays a key role in the month-end and year-end close, financial reporting, and supporting initiatives that improve processes and efficiency.

As part of the Finance team, the Senior Accountant contributes to this mission by ensuring that the financial infrastructure supporting our students, faculty, and programs is accurate, sound, and adaptable.
Key Responsibilities:
· Prepare and enter general ledger data in accordance with professional accounting standards
· Reconcile subledgers and general ledger accounts for multiple campuses (Boston, NYC)
· Monitor and reconcile institutional cash accounts
· Review general ledger activity to ensure proper posting and classification
· Take ownership of all Berklee NYC accounting and reconciliation functions
· Assist with monthly and year-end closing processes
· Prepare financial reports and statements for both internal and external stakeholders
· Support Workday ERP initiatives and help drive improvements in accounting workflows
· Participate in special projects and process optimization efforts
What You Bring:
· Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
· 5–8 years of relevant accounting experience
· Ability to operate independently and make informed decisions
· Experience with financial systems; Workday ERP and banking module knowledge preferred
· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Hiring Range: $83,000 to $98000; salary dependent on relevant experience and education.
