What You'll Do

Our Electric Estimating Team provides estimates for complex and non-complex electric projects at various stages in their lifecycle, as well as provides forecasting support for complex projects that require additional funding to complete. The team also performs internal data controls, supports enterprise estimating software updates, tracks internal Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and supports external departments with all estimating needs. As an intern, you will design reviews on drawings and in the field, perform data cleanup integrity support, and play a part in the development and maintenance of estimating tools.

You will be in Syracuse, NY working in a Hybrid structure for the summer. You must be located within a commutable distance to the identified work location for the summer.

What You'll Need

  • Availability to start on program start date, May 27, 2025 and work full-time (40 hours a week) throughout your duration of the summer
  • Registered in school as a full-time student and continuing education full-time for Fall 2025 Semester
  • Pursuing an Associates, Bachelors, or Masters degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Computer Science, Math, Physics, Business or related degrees
  • Accumulated 18 or more credits and be 18 years of age
  • Work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (including CPT & OPT)
  • Valid US Driver's license with a safe driving history that meets National Grid's Safe Driver policy.

More Information

Salary Range

$17.00 - $23.00 an hour (Undergraduate Student)

$25.00 - $29.00 an hour (Graduate Student)

Candidates will be assessed and provided offers based on major, degree type, and class year. Our Gridtern Program does not offer relocation, housing assistance, or public transportation reimbursement for Gridterns; however, we can provide a list of resources to utilize in making your arrangements.

Must reside within our existing footprint, which includes Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, and Vermont. As a Gridtern, you should also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to your assigned primary office.
