What You'll Do
Our Customer Energy Transition Solutions team develops new solutions for customers to maximize the value from the clean energy transition. Three sub-teams focus on solutions that enable National Grid to optimize its electric distribution grid and decarbonize its gas network:
The Solar and Storage sub-team develops solutions that better enable customers to access and connect solar and storage, improve customer experience, and enhance customer equity.
The Grid Edge Flexibility sub-team develops solutions thatleverage advances in technology to enable customers to benefit from using their energy in flexible ways to improve utilization of the distribution grid.
The Targeted Electrification sub-team develops and enhances electrification solutions that meet customer needs while driving decarbonization of the gas network.
As an intern, you may support the development of existing and new initiatives that include external peer benchmarking, customer engagement, program design, energy data interpretation, support on regulatory filings, and stakeholder management.
You will be in Brooklyn, NY working in a Hybrid structure for the summer. You must be located within a commutable distance to the identified work location for the summer.
What You'll Need
Availability to start on program start date, May 27, 2025 and work full-time (40 hours a week) throughout your duration of the summer
Registered in school as a full-time student and continuing education full-time for Fall 2025 Semester
Pursuing an Associates, Bachelors, or Masters degree Economics, Engineering, or related fields
Accumulated 18 or more credits and be 18 years of age
Work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (including CPT & OPT)

Salary Range
$21.00 - $27.00 an hour (Undergraduate Student)
$28.00 - $34.00 an hour (Graduate Student)
Candidates will be assessed and provided offers based on major, degree type, and class year. Our Gridtern Program does not offer relocation, housing assistance, or public transportation reimbursement for Gridterns; however, we can provide a list of resources to utilize in making your arrangements.
Must reside within our existing footprint, which includes Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, and Vermont. As a Gridtern, you should also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to your assigned primary office.
