Your Role: This position is crucial to the Digital Engineering Leadership Team, focusing on defining, building, and supporting our cutting-edge web and mobile presence in a fast-paced environment. The individual will provide technical leadership, build and lead a high-performing team, and drive the development and growth of consumer and agent-facing digital platforms.
Your work:
• Leads multiple Agile teams comprised of highly-skilled Engineers in the analysis, design, development and testing of digital applications.
• Ensures that technical solutions are aligned with CSAA's Enterprise Architecture strategy, and that systems are built for uninterrupted availability, future extensibility, and low-maintenance support.
• Ensures that rigorous technical and quality standards are understood and implemented throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Effectively leads complicated priorities and ensures that all project and department landmarks are met within the approved timeline and budget.
• Works with Engineering teams to identify technical and program risks and define plans for risk mitigation.
• Develops and maintains strong working relationships with key business stakeholders.
• Stays current on the latest software development methodologies, trends and techniques, and orchestrates improvements that support efficient, quality application development.
• Proactively identifies gaps and introduces process improvements that help the broader organization become more efficient.
• Oversees and participates in all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Ensures that software delivery meets agreed-to service levels. Diagnoses delivery problems to identify actions required to maintain or improve levels of service.
• Identifies, selects and develops strong relationships with vendors in order to drive Digital Roadmap capabilities.
• Hires, onboards, coaches and mentors direct reports and creates an engaged, productive partnership environment.
• Leads by example and develops a culture of personal and mutual accountability.
• Demonstrates a deep understanding of end-user and stakeholder needs and leverages this insight to make and influence strategic technology decisions.
• Ensures that Engineers are suitably trained and well-equipped to perform all job functions, and sets clear performance expectations.
• Accountable for ensuring the effective utilization of available resources and a cooperative, team environment.
• Participates in setting long-term strategic direction and establishing operational policies for the Digital Organization.
• Works with leaders and members from other IT departments in order to coordinate technology services and products that enhance the delivery and implementation of the technology strategy.
• Manages several large and sophisticated programs or projects concurrently, and identifies dependencies relative to other initiatives within the enterprise.
• Plans and leads budgets, forecasts, projects and associated staffing requirements.
• Makes recommendations to business partners and serves as an advisor on technology opportunities. Provides implementation guidance while considering priority and available resources.

Required Experience, Education and Skills
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or comparable experience
• 8+ years' experience in software development.
• Consistent record to build and grow high-performing teams.
• Strong project management, consulting, negotiation, and customer service skills.
• Must be a principled, process-oriented Manager able to lead implementation of standard methodology controls and processes.
• Must be a highly organized and results-oriented individual capable of providing technical leadership within and across the organization.
• Ability to communicate sophisticated ideas and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to form strong partnerships with business counterparts.
• Experience with Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence.
• Experience building and leading partners; responsible for ensuring stakeholders and leadership are well-informed of pertinent issues, concerns or challenges.
• Experience supporting multiple sophisticated systems with significant integration points and external third-party systems through APIs.
• Demonstrated skill in communicating/selling technical solutions to senior management.
• Ability to manage executive-level internal and external relationships.
• Experience with highly transactional account and payment-related websites
