Job Description Summary:
This position is responsible for testing and maintaining the underground system during normal and after hour emergency situations, while working with internal and external stakeholders, and running equipment, also being familiar with multiple different testing devices. (Dynatel A-frame, thumper, Phase ID machine, etc.)
Education:
High School Diploma or GED Required.
Job Description:
- Test and locate faults for Distribution, Network Underground, and Transmission
- Locate primary cables as well as secondaries
- On call 24/7 365 with an expected 100% response rate
- There are currently two fault locators covering the metro areas
- Available during storm situations and provide DAT for local headquarters
- Statewide response (recent locations Augusta, Lagrange (Network), Chatsworth, Savannah, Trion, etc.)
- Lone Workers, working inside energized UD transformers and equipment to locate faults
- Training: train line crews how to operate some of our fault locating equipment more efficiently
- Communication with Supervisors, crews, coordinators, and contractors of progress, needs, and findings of several projects.
- Phase ID for contractor workforce and GPC employees
- 5 yrs Knowledge and experience of our Distribution underground system
- 2 yrs Journeyman/Line experience
