In this exciting role and opportunity, you will lead the development of Antenna and Electronically Steered Antenna (ESA) payload solutions for Space Vehicles, Missiles, and Terrestrial platforms. You will work with RF designs from the MHz range all the way up through Optical systems. Our Antenna and ESA product portfolio includes a wide range of projects addressing the critical needs of commercial, civil, and government customers.
You will contribute to the design and development of high reliability RF and Antenna components and subsystems with a focus on High Power, Multipaction, PIM, and Corona. You will perform requirements analysis and decomposition, develop specifications, perform architectural and product trade analyses, execute detailed implementation, validate performance, and certify a deliverable product. You may also support proposals and new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct multipaction and RF breakdown testing in compliance with industry standards (e.g., ESA, MIL-STD).
* Analyze and simulate multipaction and power-handling limits using tools like CST Microwave Studio, HFSS, or SPARK3D.
* Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and test teams to optimize antenna performance and mitigate RF power-related risks.
* Prepare and approve technical documentation including test procedures, reports, and failure analyses.
This position emphasizes "systems thinking" throughout the life-cycle of payloads, subsystems, and RF and Antenna components.
Successful applicants will typically possess:
* A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 9+ years of professional experience
Basic Qualifications:
Skill Requirements:
* Experience with high power or multipaction or PIM or Corona analysis or testing with Antenna components or subsystems
* Experience designing antennas and/or feed networks such as reflectors, waveguide components, horns, helices, phased arrays, patches, or similar hardware.
* Experience with certifying and verifying Antenna components or subsystems
* Experience with Antenna payload architecture and performance analysis
* Demonstrated ability to lead in cross functional teams and communicate and coordinate work with common goals and technical project management
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to interact effectively with customers, management, and peers
* Familiarity with the design and operation of test setups for PIM, corona, and multipaction
Security Clearance Requirements:
* To meet requirements of the program/customer, this position requires the selected employee be a U.S. Citizen.
* There is no clearance is required to begin employment, however, candidates must have the ability to obtain (and maintain), at a minimum, a Top Secret security clearance for long-term employment
* SCI eligibility (either adjudicated or the ability to obtain SCI access), is preferred
Desired Skills:
* Active Top Secret with SCI Eligibility (TS/SCI)
* Experience with Antenna design and analysis using tools such as GRASP (General Responsibility Assignment Software Patterns), HFSS, SPARK3D, CST Microwave Studio, WIPL-D, FEKO, or similar tool packages
* Experience with RF and/or Antenna performance analysis using MATLAB or similar tools
* Experience with Architecture, integration, and test of Electronically Steerable Arrays (ESA), Radar Systems, RF and/or digital payloads, Telemetry Tracking & Command (TT&C), or missile communications subsystems.
* Experience with Electronic Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) and/or Special Test Equipment (STE)
* Certification and training as Certified Principal Engineer (CPE), Responsible Systems Engineer (RSE), or equivalent
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $114,100 - $218,600. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
