A Brief Overview
Dr. Wolpaw's laboratory is seeking a Research Technician III for his lab focused on using animal models of childhood cancer. The successful applicant will have a BA or BS in biology, chemistry, or a related field and prior experience working with laboratory animals.

Dr. Wolpaw's laboratory seeks to develop an understanding of how tumor heterogeneity and epigenetics impact inflammatory signaling and immunotherapy responses in pediatric solid tumors with a goal of developing more efficacious, less toxic therapies to treat these devastating diseases. The applicant will work primarily on in vivo projects to characterize new immunocompetent models of neuroblastoma lineage heterogeneity (using ChIP-seq and single-cell RNA sequencing) and to determine how lineage heterogeneity impacts response to multiple different therapies. They will also contribute to other work going on in the lab on using CRISPR-Cas9 screens to uncover the transcriptional regulation of innate immune sensing pathways in neuroblastoma and characterizing how activation of inflammatory signaling in neuroblastoma cells impact immune surveillance and immunotherapy responses. This work builds on our published study in PNAS (https://www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.2102358119) and is funded by grants from the Department of Defense and the NIH.
