Summary

The Bankruptcy Analyst position performs recurring daily duties that support NRG's retail companies. The essential responsibilities are focused on intake of customer bankruptcy notifications and undertaking action to ensure internal systems transactions are immediately taken to comply with applicable bankruptcy rules.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Receive daily bankruptcy notifications via ECF box and R-Mail in SAP (two electronic forms of bankruptcy mail) and paper mail
  • Locate customer accounts in applicable modules of enterprise system (SAP customer care & service module)
  • Check Microsoft Access database to determine if reported cases have been processed or whether new (note: notification mail can include cases that have been previously reported through other channels and thus have been processed or are in progress)
  • Verify customer bankruptcies received through mail notification are valid by accessing Public Access to Court Electronic Records (PACER), a federal database service of the United States district courts
  • Place dunning locks and annotate accounts in SAP (the transaction prevents dunning action)
  • Research customer information and pull contracts from customer relationship management systems (SIEBEL and Salesforce)
  • Provide support to senior bankruptcy analyst involving research, special projects and reports

Education

  • Associate degree or higher preferred or equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.

Experience

  • 2+ years of related work experience required working in ERP systems (SAP & Siebel preferred) entering and analyzing information, researching customer accounts and executing transactions.
  • 2+ years customer service and data entry related experience. Knowledge of the utility and/or deregulated energy industry is a plus.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and with teams.
  • Currently working remotely; Couple of days out of the week to work in office
  • Excellent problem solving skills and ability to use good judgment to make recommendations and decisions.
  • Attention to detail is critical.
  • Ability to work independently through the use of initiative and self-motivation.
  • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent personal computer skills within a windows environment, including spreadsheets, databases and word processing.
  • Ability to use fundamental math daily (add, subtract, multiply, divide and calculate percentages).
  • Ability to use 10-key calculator.
  • Must possess a valid Texas Drivers License.

Working Conditions

  • Fast paced office environment with high volume workload.
  • Frequent use of computers, i.e. typing on keyboards, viewing monitors, etc.
  • Overtime as required
