The selected candidates will be eligible for:
$3,000 SIGNING BONUS *
$4,000 annual CDL Stipend (if applicable)*

This position is approved for a Voluntary Career Progression program that allows employees to be advanced to the appropriate next level position within their current division.

The following Public Utilities Section - Water Distribution has an immediate opening. This position is ideal for those looking to learn a trade.

Water Distribution Section
  • Performs difficult unskilled and semi-skilled work in the maintenance, repair, installation and operation of a municipal water distribution system.
  • Work will include, but is not limited to: routine water valve and fire hydrant maintenance; repair or replacement of water mains and valves from 2" to 36" in size, fire hydrants, large meters, large vaults, asphalt and concrete work, system tests, flushing programs, operation and maintenance of light to medium duty equipment and related tasks as may be required.

Class A CDL with tanker endorsement is required within 6 months of hire.

This position is deemed an Alpha position so you must have the ability to work in any emergency situations due to weather or operational issues. Must be available for inclement weather, mandatory standby duty, and overtime as needed.
Employees may be expected to work hours in excess of, and/or outside of, their normally scheduled hours in response to short-term department needs and/or City-wide emergencies. Emergency operations support work and work locations may be outside of normal job duties.
