Full Job Description

The Director of Physical Therapy is responsible for planning, directing and overseeing the operations and fiscal health of the department at Mountain Park Health Center. The Director of Physical Therapy is responsible to direct and monitor assigned staff and projects in order to accomplish goals for the Physical Therapy department and Mountain Park organizational goals.

The Director of Physical Therapy will be responsible for establishing the Physical Therapy department, processes, and support at Mountain Park.

Essential Functions

  • Provides physical therapy services to patients.
  • Works cooperatively with physicians and care team to develop a care and treatment plan that is appropriate for the patient.
  • Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to functional strategic plans and reviews by:

o preparing and completing action plans;

o implementing production, productivity, quality and customer-service standards;

o supports managers and team members with completing audits,

determining system improvements and implementing change;

  • Creates a work environment of professional practice by encouraging innovation and collaboration; actualizing human caring, eliciting commitment to excellence, demonstrating a respect for diversity.
  • Maintains professional relations by facilitating open channels of communication with other organizational leaders, other departments, physicians and ancillary personnel to promote excellence in service throughout the organization.
  • Contributes to organizational effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations, recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives.
  • Establishes strategic goals for clinical physical therapy services by gathering pertinent financial, and operations information; identifying and evaluating trends and options, chooses a course of action and evaluates outcomes.
  • Analyzes proposed legislation, regulations, or rule changes to determine how the organization or physical therapy services could be impacted.
  • Acts as a consultant to senior leadership regarding the interpretation of program-related federal, state, and other county regulations and policies.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree of Physical Therapy or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Seven (7) years of supervisory experience; preferably in a community health, home health, outpatient or acute care rehabilitation setting
  • Three (3) years clinical physical therapy experience.
  • If applicable, equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in establishing a physical therapy department, processes, and procedures.
  • Current CPR Card

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree (DPT) or Advanced Clinical Doctorate (DPTSc, DScPT, DHSc)
  • Ten (10) years of supervisory experience; preferably in a community health, home health, outpatient or acute care rehabilitation setting
  • Five (5) years clinical physical therapy experience.
