SUMMARY
The crane operator is responsible for operating a crawler crane in support of Marine construction projects No rotation, Monday through Friday work week, 10 hours per day. Daily subsistence included with pay package. Must have reliable transportation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Additional duties may be assigned.
- Operates a crawler crane in support of construction activities moving forms rebar and so on.
- Operates the crane during pile driving operations. Impact or vibratory
- Assist in other essential faucets of the project if crane operations are unneeded.
- Performs daily crane, rigging, barge and associated equipment inspections, completion of inspection logs and basic maintenance on crane: changing oil and filters, fueling, lubricating gears and bearings, etc.
- Maintains inventory of rigging supplies and repairs and splices cables and towing ropes
- Secures mooring lines to barges or tugs if needed.
- Participates in writing JSAs prior to performing work activity and executes work accordingly.
- Ensures compliance with Manson's Code of Ethics and Standards of Business Conduct.
- Responsible for practicing safe work standards and promoting an Incident and Injury Free (IIF) work environment as a condition of employment
QUALIFICATIONS and SKILLS
- Minimum 3 years' experience lattice boom crawler cranes.
- Pile driving experience required.
- NCCO license with lattice boom required.
- Friction crane experience required.
- Marine experience a preferred
- Mechanical dredging experience preferred.
- Must have ability to give and receive, understand, respond and follow verbal and written communications and instructions, including the ability to read/write machinery requirements, document compliance records and receive and respond to hand/radio signals from deck crew.
- Must be able to communicate, take direction well, and work cooperatively with other colleagues.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Valid Crane Operator certification (such as NCCCO) with specialization required in Lattice Boom cranes (LBC) required.
- Valid picture identification required.
- Valid Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC) or eligibility is required for this position.

- The employee must be able to meet the physical requirements of this position, including:
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions and on marine vessels in water
- Able to safely execute duties in and around heavy equipment/large machinery in marine dredging and marine construction job sites
- Able to wear the personal protective equipment (PPE) required of various construction work environments (hard hats, personal floatation devices, safety glasses, respirators, etc.)
