The BIO Manufacturing team consists of Upstream, Purification, and Solutions Preparation and are focused on making safe and efficacious products for patients.
Position Description
We are seeking a motivated co-op student to join our Biotech Manufacturing team. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create process maps for various tasks and develop innovative ways of working for day-to-day operations. The co-op student will also participate in data collection and analysis, support process improvements, and contribute to achieving production goals. Ideal candidates should be pursuing a degree in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related field, possess strong analytical skills, and demonstrate a commitment to safety and quality in a fast-paced environment. This co-op opportunity offers experience in the biotech industry and the chance to contribute to impactful projects.
Example projects may include:
- Create Process Flow Diagrams for varying processes (examples are: Work Orders, Kanban)
- Creating new ways of working and/or tools for day-to-day operations (examples are: team shift exchange, KPI metric development, etc)
Qualifications

- Processing mapping skills
- Understanding of Operational Excellence
- Proficient in MS office programs & Technical Writing
- Self-Starter with good communication skills and willingness to learn new skills.
To participate in the Biogen Internship Program, students must meet the following eligibility criteria:
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S.
- At least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
- Be currently enrolled in an accredited community college, college or university
Education
Pursuing a Bachelor Degree (preferably in a discipline like Industrial Engineering with a focus on process mapping and operational excellence
