United Way Miami, Inc. is hiring an Associate, Accounts Payable to join our team. As Associate, Accounts Payable you will administer the accounts payable process; and maintain and verify diverse statistical and fiscal bookkeeping records and accounts in accordance with United Way's financial policies and procedures.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Process all accounts payable transactions: responsible for timely processing of invoices in compliance with UWM's policies, accurate coding, and distribution and assure that EFT notifications are emailed once the payments are completed. Responsible for the direct debit payments to be properly recorded in the AP system and support the P-card expense processing; prepares monthly recurring payments reports to ensure that these are paid timely avoiding late fees.
- Update vendor information when requested and respond to any inquiries from vendors or employees. Assures that bank information on vendor and employee files is up to date. Coordinate the preparation of 1099's.
- Process payments of monthly, quarterly, and special agency allocation distribution, special restricted funds, and any fiscal agent entities; update supporting documentation and allocation disbursement schedule; update and maintain records of Community Impact requests for special payments to agencies, while ensuring proper back-up of all required materials. Records Donor Advised Fund distributions in the A/P system
- Responsible for proper business expenses reimbursement; assisted in the external audit by providing any requested documentation and responding to auditors' inquiries.
- Manage the organization's petty cash.
- Provide expense reimbursement training to new hires during onboarding. Continue educating staff on the proper procedure to request expense reimbursement.
- Works with Finance staff to provide correct general ledger information in A/P transactions. Provide guidance and continue training to invoice approvers on the proper accounting information required in each A/P transaction.
Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration or equivalent experience.
Experience Requirements: One to three years of experience in accounting, mainly in Accounts Payable.
Technology Requirements: Beginner Internet Explorer and Word, intermediate Excel and Financial Edge, and Outlook.
Other Essential Knowledge/Skills: Possess good mathematical skills, attention to detail, ability to accurately handle data entry functions; good judgment and excellent people skills; good oral and written communication skills.
