The Associate Director is a member of the Finance team providing Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and strategic advisement to our Company Human Health Marketing organization. The Associate Director supports forecasting, budgeting, S&OP, life cycle management, financial evaluation, and business development activity for their business area.The Associate Director is part of a team that partners closely with cross functional stakeholders (internal and external), including commercial, research, manufacturing, legal, compliance and corporate teams to identify, evaluate and execute strategic opportunities.

This position is aligned to the Infectious Disease, Neuroscience and Ophthalmology (INO) franchises of the Global Pharma franchise and provides analytical support for Financial Planning and Analysis across INO. This role will specifically support the HIV and Neuroscience Portfolio including alliance support, profit/cost sharing and business development modeling. Within HIV, this role will be responsible for ensuring management of our Company Gilead alliance for the launch of Islatravir / Lenacapavir which includes financial development of profit and cost sharing analyses for all markets.

The Associate Director will develop a deep understanding of their business area and their strategic contribution to the broader our Company enterprise. Because this position includes responsibility for collaborations, strong accounting and reporting experience coupled with strong business partnering skills are critical for this role.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Work collaboratively with Global marketing colleagues to support development of financial forecasts which include May LROP planning for small market gross up's and 10-year extensions.

  • Support FP&A activities, including financial functional support for upcoming launches, in line and end of life-cycle products.

  • Expertise in the end-to-end profit share process, including: financial statement impacts, accounting implications of all calculations and accrual entries as well as critical review of all supporting/backup files created

  • Responsible for optimization, standardization and preparation of all collaboration deliverables (data workbooks, shareable expenses, FTE data, etc.), including review of actuals reporting (accrual, true-up, reconciliation, payment and disclosure preparation)

  • Act as the primary finance point of contact for all Global Supply & Operating Plan (GS&OP) reviews which includes providing financial updates and insights as to changes in market revenues that may impact supply.

  • Partner with commercial, manufacturing, and research teams to drive analytics that optimize pipeline and commercial investments.

  • Partner with the Finance Director to provide strategic and financial insight on key business decisions and new initiatives; develop, evaluate, and present business cases to senior leaders.

  • Support of collaboration products accounting and financial reporting, which includes knowledge of data inputs from all stakeholders and related financial statement calculations related to profit shares.

  • Oversight over global promotional investments for INO sub-franchise (monthly actuals vs. budget tracking)

  • Support business development assessments for Global Pharma franchise (as needed)

  • Other ad-hoc projects within Global Pharma franchise

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • At least 5 years of professional experience

Preferred Experience and Skills:

  • MBA, CPA or other Master's/PhD in Business, Finance or Engineering

  • Experience with optimization of complex processes/calculations

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong compliance focus, financial acumen, and analytical skills

  • Prior experience with collaboration products, including preparation and reviews of financial statement impacts of all relevant calculations and journal entries

  • Experience with providing audit support (internal and external)

  • Passion and intellectual curiosity with respect to healthcare industry

  • Experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry

  • Strong computer skills, especially working with Excel and PowerPoint

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

The Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job in certain states and cities within the United States. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate's relevant skills, experience, and education.

Expected US salary range:

$126,500.00 - $199,100.00
