Job Summary
The University of Michigan Shared Services Center (U-M SSC) is a customer service organization focused on providing user-friendly and cost-effective administrative services to the university community. The SSC offers key financial and human resource transactional support.
Reporting to the Accounts Receivable Services Supervisor, you will be an important member of the Accounts Receivable team. Our Accounts Receivable Team processes financial transactions received by the U-M SSC from the University of Michigan community and their business partners. You will support general receivable collections activity on behalf of the university.
Work Location:
Because occasional on-site presence may be required, you are expected to live within a reasonable commuting distance to Ann Arbor. You are required to have a high-speed internet connection and a designated working space in your home. Equipment, including a laptop and monitors, will be provided for your use.

Responsibilities*
- Follow up on invoice payment status with the customers list you are responsible for
- Review and respond to customer inquiries promptly and address issues as they arise
- Partner with our customers to send uncollectible invoices to third-party collection agencies or write off
- Research unidentified payments and apply to the appropriate customer account
Required Qualifications*
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 1+ years of experience providing customer service
- Intermediate level proficiency with data entry
- 1+ years of experience with business software solutions
Modes of Work
The work requirements allow for the majority or all of the work to be completed offsite. On occasion, the employee may be required and must be available to work onsite if necessitated by unit leadership or their designee and/or the job requirements, but is not generally scheduled on a recurring basis.
