Accessories Coordinator

Long Beach, CA
Full-Time

Job Description

ABOUT SLATE

At Slate, we’re building safe, reliable vehicles that people can afford, personalize and love—and doing it here in the USA as part of our commitment to reindustrialization. The spirit of DIY and customization runs throughout every element of a Slate, because people should have control over how their trucks look, feel, and represent them.

Accessories Coordinator

Location: Troy, MI or Long Beach, CA (Hybrid)

Who we are looking for:

The Accessories team is building something from scratch—dozens of products, a fast-moving portfolio, and a lean team that doesn't have time to chase its own tail. We need someone who's been around enough to know what's about to slip through the cracks before it does—and scrappy enough to catch it. As our Accessories Coordinator, you'll be the operational backbone of the team: tracking parts, coordinating builds, managing samples, wrangling schedules, taking notes so people can focus during meetings, and making sure Product Managers aren't burning hours on logistics when they should be building. You thrive in ambiguity, move fast, communicate clearly, and you actually like herding cats.

What you get to do:

  • Own cross-functional task tracking across the full accessory portfolio—keeping action items, milestones, and deliverables visible, current, and followed up on so Product Managers and the Program Manager can stay in their lane

  • Coordinate parts, samples, and physical product logistics—requesting, receiving, tracking, organizing, and dispositioning components across internal teams and suppliers

  • Support build coordination and prototype activities: scheduling, tracking parts availability, coordinating space and equipment needs, and ensuring the right people have what they need when they need it

  • Manage team scheduling and calendars: own recurring meetings, design reviews, launch check-ins, supplier calls, and cross-functional alignment sessions

  • Attend meetings across teams, take thorough notes, capture action items, and make sure nothing falls off

  • Support purchase order tracking, invoice follow-up, and basic budget reconciliation in coordination with finance and supply chain—tracking status without necessarily executing procurement

  • Coordinate with events teams, marketing, and operations for trade shows, internal programs, product reveals, and any activation requiring accessories samples or support

  • Maintain program trackers, documentation libraries, and product databases so the team always has one reliable source of truth

  • Assist with content gathering, product photography coordination, and asset management for accessories launches

  • Proactively flag gaps in process, workflow, or communication—and help build the fix

What you bring to the team:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a product development, program support, or operations coordination role—automotive, EV, consumer tech, or any fast-moving hard goods environment preferred

  • Proven ability to juggle a high volume of parallel workstreams and keep them all moving without being told twice

  • Strong proficiency in Smartsheet and/or Jira for project and task tracking, plus Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  • Exposure to procurement, PLM, or ERP systems is a plus—you don't need to be the buyer, but knowing how to track and follow up in those systems matters

  • Experience coordinating with suppliers, vendors, or cross-functional partners—you know how to follow up without being annoying and push for timelines without burning bridges

  • Polished, professional, and composed in any room—but wired to get stuff done, not just to look organized

  • You write and communicate clearly, whether it's a Slack message, a meeting recap, or a status email to leadership

  • Comfortable in a startup environment where the process is still being written—you're good at figuring it out, not waiting for a manual

  • A bachelor's degree in business, operations, supply chain, or a related field is a plus; equivalent experience is absolutely considered

  • Genuine interest in vehicles, automotive accessories, or physical product development will make this job even more fun for you

Work Authorization Requirement:

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis. We are unable to offer visa sponsorship at this time.

About Slate Auto

At Slate, we’ve got one job: building a vehicle you’ll fall in love with, right here in the USA.

We believe that car buyers—not car companies—should call the shots.

We like looking at a road, not a screen.

We don’t like paying for stuff we don’t need.

We like picking out the stuff we do need.

We think dings are badges, not blemishes.

But we know not everyone likes what we like.

So, we built you a Slate: you make it yours.
