Tiza Serrano Thompson & Associates, Claims Litigation Counsel for State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company in Sacramento, California, is hiring a Summer Law Intern who will have exposure to litigation and trial practice. The internship strives to provide a balanced and realistic representation of the function of Claims Litigation Counsel, as well as real world exposure to a multitude of legal services being provided. The selected individual will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with attorneys on assigned projects, observe every phase of litigation, and will have a designated mentor throughout the internship. We enjoy an active, busy civil trial practice. We provide a congenial, team-oriented, professional work environment with skilled support staff. The internship period is scheduled from 5/19/2025-8/1/2025. The Summer Intern selected will also receive a $2,000 Intern Stipend. We work in a hybrid environment, but intern will spend much of their time in the office or with other attorneys to get the best intern experience. Work arrangements could change over time based on business needs.

• Must be currently enrolled as a 2L student in an ABA law school and must remain enrolled as a student for the duration of the internship
• Preferred students in the top half of their class
• Strong research skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Internship Details:

• Summer Internship Dates: 5/19/2025-8/1/2025
• Hours: Monday-Friday, 38.75 hours per week
  • Due to the short duration of the summer program, it is an expectation that hired interns will be available for the duration of the summer internship with little to no disruption in work schedule.
• Pay: $38/hour. In addition, interns selected for our summer internship program will be eligible for a $2,000 stipend!
• Work Arrangement: HYBRID - Selected interns should plan to spend time working from home and some time working in the office as part of our hybrid work environment. Please note that relocation benefits will not apply.
